Wenger claims Wilshere will be “fully fit”

Arsene Wenger has claimed that he expects midfielder Jack Wilshere to be fully fit for the upcoming World Cup 2014. The youngster has been included in the squad for the World Cup by national team manager Roy Hodgson. However, there have been doubts as to whether the midfielder will be fully fit after suffering from a spate of injury problems in the last few months. This has forced him to miss most of the league action for the gunners, as they have slipped down the league table.
Hodgson has named a young squad for the World Cup 2014 with the likes of Michael Carrick and Ashley Cole missing out.

Wilshere is one of several players just above the 20-year-old mark to be included in the squad. He is also part of the 24 players who have never been to a World Cup in previous years. Despite this, Wenger says that he is confident that his player will play a major role for England in the World Cup. In previous years, Wenger has been critical of the way the national team has utilized Wilshere.

Wilshere has made just 19 league appearances from the start this season. Another Arsenal player who will be involved is Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. He has also been suffering from injury problems in recent months.

“How has he been this week? Good, he works hard. We have a hard session today again and he progresses. He played 30 minutes at Norwich, that was planned, he came out well. I think if you ask me about the World Cup, he should just have enough time to be fully fit. Everybody should be available who played in our last game at Norwich. We’ll know more about that tomorrow or Friday,” said the Frenchman assessing the Arsenal players who will be part of the World Cup with England.
