ARSENAL PERFORM

The Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has praised the performance of the Arsenal team in the second half against West Ham United. Arsenal came into the encounter on the back of the 2-1 defeat at the hands of Chelsea during the weekend. The manager Arsene Wenger said that the team cannot afford any more dropped points in the league if they are to have any hope of finishing in the top four. The team is already seven points behind the fourth placed Tottenham, although they do have game in hand against West Ham. They managed to win that game is quite stunning fashion 5-1.

However, the result could have easily been wrong for the Londoners after they were trailing in the match following a goal from James Collins early in the first half. The equaliser came minutes later in the form of a goal from Lukas Podolski, but Arsenal could not get into the lead before half-time. However, a stunning performance in the second half – especially from the German striker Lukas Podolski – ensured that Arsenal finished the match with a 5-1 victory that pushed them closer to Tottenham and Chelsea in the table. Oliver Giroud, Theo Walcott, and Santi Cazorla were the other scorers for Arsenal in the match.

“It was a tough first half for us. We knew what West Ham bring, they’re a physical team and they get behind the ball and defend. They got a good goal so we had to come out and play and in the second half for 15 minutes we really upped our game. It was a good game for us and we’re happy with the three points,” said the midfielder Jack Wilshere, who is slowly starting to influence the game more often than not after returning from more than a year on the sidelines.
