The Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has confirmed that he will be signing a new contract with the club over the next few weeks. The 20-year-old midfielder has revealed that negotiations have been going on for quite a while now and they are extremely close to reaching an agreement. Wilshere has been one of the best players in England since coming through the ranks at Arsenal. Due to the fact that the club has lost several important players having failed to negotiate their contracts earlier, Arsenal are determined not to make the same mistake in the case of Jack Wilshere.

The negotiations over the possibility of the midfielder signing a new contract have begun many months ago and it is closer to being achieved according to the midfielder. Even though Arsenal have been unable to compete for major trophies, Wilshere believes that it will be only a matter of time before they are successful once again. Wilshere has said that the fans and the players are extremely disappointed at the fact that they have gone out of the League Cup, but due to the fact that they still remain in contention for the trophies, there is reason to be positive over the rest of the season.

Wilshere recently returned from a long-term injury that kept him out of action for more than a year. “I am talking to the club and I probably will be committing my future to the club in the next couple of weeks. I know the team are going through a bad stage at the moment but that is like any team. We have to know our season is not over. It was the Capital One Cup. It was not one of our main targets. We were all disappointed,” said the Arsenal midfielder after the Bradford City match.
