Once a Star, Wilshere being Bought Out

The West Ham United has no plans of selling the defender Winston Reid or the midfielder Jack Wilshere after the current 2019-2020 season. Wilshere did not play for the first squad since October 2019 and is currently off the field because of a hernia operation in February. The former Arsenal footballer has missed a total number of 62 appearances after he was signed for the West Ham by former boss Manuel Pellegrini in the summer of the year 2018.

Winston Reid is currently on loan at Major League Soccer side Sporting Kansas City. The season began at the weekend with a 3-1 victory over the team Vancouver Whitecaps but Winston Reid was not involved in this match. If sources are to be believed, Sporting Kansas City is just paying 15% of Winston Reid’s weekly wages. Although according to recent resources, West Ham might consider canceling the contacts with Jack Wilshere and Winston Reid to reduce their losses. But these rumors are thought of as false alarms and that they might not be very credible. Recent reports from Football Insider states that the West Ham officials are considering canceling Jack Wilshere’s contract with the club.

The 28-year midfielder joined West Ham on a free transfer of 2018 after the expiration of his contract with Arsenal. Wilshere has made only 16 appearances while playing for West Ham with just a single goal and one assist. Jack Wilshere’s time has been marked by many injuries but on his day, he was one of the best players there.

It seems that the reason and logic behind bringing Jack Wilshere as the central midfielder is being questioned by the experts. Wilshere is a very expensive contract for West Ham given that they signed him on a three-year contract with £100,000 per week. West Ham is looking for ways in which they can buy Wilshere out of the club before his contract expires in 2021.
