FULHAM PRODIGY A TARGET FOR ARSENAL

Arsenal are interested in signing Fulham forward Ryan Sessegnon according to news sources in England. The pacey forward has attracted interest from several teams including Juventus and Tottenham who are interested in his signature.

The 19-year-old was impressive for the Cottagers last season winning the Championship Player of the Year as he helped Fulham to gain promotion to the Premier League.

However, Sessegnon endured an underwhelming debut season in the top flight netting just two goals in all competitions.

Sessegnon is a type of player that should be handled with care if he makes the move to the Emirates or Old Trafford. One problem with teenage stars in England is that the expectations get realistic and they crack under such pressure.

Jack Wilshere is an example of a teenage prodigy that lost his way due to insane expectations on his shoulders.  Although Sessegnon did not perform well last season, he would benefit from a gradual easing into the first team.

Despite this, he is still, considered as one of the brightest young forwards in the game. Arsenal believes that he can thrive at the club and have opened talks with Fulham regarding the transfer.

It is understood that Fulham are demanding a fee of £40 million fees for their prize asset as the club looks to prepare for next season in the Championship.

It is however unlikely that Arsenal would pay such fee for the forward who has a year left on his contract.

Manchester United are in for a big summer after their disappointing season and Sessegnon signing would keep in line with their tradition of signing talented English youngsters.

Sessegnon has so far scored 25 goals in 115 appearances for Fulham. Fulham are looking to tie the player to a long-term contract but could be resigned to losing him in the summer.
